About this role
Our client is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer for a remote, 9+ month contract position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and focused on delivering improvements to business users through effective reporting and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in prototyping, designing, developing, and publishing Power BI Reports.
- Develop Power BI Data models and recommend best practices for report creation and visualizations.
- Implement security measures in reports and dashboards.
- Integrate Dashboards into applications using Power BI Embedded.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to gather business requirements for Analytics and Reporting.
- Provide guidance to BI developers within the team.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and optimize report performance.
- Build and modify tables, views, and optimize SQL queries and indexes as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to agile/scrum practices during the development process.
- Evaluate self-service reporting and dashboard tools.
- Estimate work content and achieve planned timelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Business Analytics tools, specifically in developing Reporting and Dashboards.
- Strong expertise in Reporting and Analytics using Power BI, including M Query, DAX, Data Modelling, and Row Level Security.
- Proficient in database technologies with strong SQL query writing skills, preferably with SQL Server.
- Excellent analytical skills to convert data into relevant reports and graphics.
- Understanding of implementing solutions with multiple data sources.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and ability to adapt quickly to dynamic settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in Power BI development and business analytics.
