Our client, a leading distribution organization, is seeking a skilled RPG Developer for a remote contract position. This role is ideal for professionals looking to contribute to a dynamic team while supporting the I.T. Department with applications development, maintenance, and support using various RPG versions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-cycle RPG development including planning, programming, testing, and implementation for financial applications.
- Implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
- Identify problems or potential issues with systems and/or clients.
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical personnel.
- Analyze, write, and maintain computer applications in iSeries and RPG.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced expertise in RPG programming.
- Experience with Built-In functions and Service Programs in RPG.
- Proven experience in the consumer product distribution industry, particularly in a SKU intensive environment.
- Practical experience with SQL RPG.
- Ability to work with existing code, modifying and enhancing programs as needed.
- Manufacturing industry experience is preferred but not required.
Experience: 5-8 years in RPG development and related fields.
