About this role
Our client is seeking a Platform Architect & Backend Lead to join their team in building a multi-tenant, hardware-agnostic IoT platform from the ground up. This role requires a senior engineer who can seamlessly transition between designing system architecture and writing production backend code in a fast-paced early-stage environment. The ideal candidate will also take ownership of cloud infrastructure as an interim DevOps until the team scales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable system architecture for IoT platforms.
- Develop and maintain production backend code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine platform requirements.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and ensure optimal performance and security.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a dynamic work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building IoT backend platforms.
- Strong proficiency in backend development languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of database management systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years in software development, with a focus on architecture and backend systems.
