Data Scientist

Our client is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join their team in Bangalore on a long-term contract basis. This position will initially be remote due to Covid-19. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applied data science, analytics, and data storytelling, with the ability to write well-documented code that can be shared and utilized across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement descriptive and predictive models using advanced Python or R.
• Utilize SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Create impactful visualizations using Tableau to convey data insights effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into existing products.
• Apply expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Work with tools such as Hadoop, BigQuery, Presto, and Vertica to manage and analyze large data sets.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL and advanced programming skills in Python or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
• Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop and cloud platforms such as BigQuery.
• Strong analytical skills and a passion for data storytelling.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings clearly to stakeholders.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in data science or analytics.
