About this role
Our client is seeking a Category Manager specializing in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and LLE (Large Low Voltage) Equipment for Data Center and Cloud Services. This role is crucial for overseeing procurement and category management of essential equipment and service contracts within the data center business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete PR (Purchase Requisition) to PO (Purchase Order) process, including RFPs (Request for Proposals) and obtaining offers.
- Develop and implement category strategies for MEP/LLE equipment such as power transformers, GIS, switchgear, DG sets, HVAC systems, and more.
- Collaborate with consultants and contractors to conduct feasibility studies and service contracts.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and best practices while optimizing costs and supplier performance.
- Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in procurement and category management, specifically in MEP/LLE equipment.
- Strong understanding of data center operations and relevant equipment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
