About this role
Our client is seeking an experienced Back-end Developer with a strong focus on Magento and PHP for a freelance role. This position is fully remote and requires a deep understanding of back-end development practices, particularly within the eCommerce sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom Magento modules, APIs, and integrations.
- Troubleshoot application issues across multiple environments to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with Agile development teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
- Implement best practices in object-oriented programming and software development.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong PHP development experience.
- Extensive experience with Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce architecture and development.
- Proficient in MySQL and database design concepts.
- Experience in consuming and developing REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Git-based source control systems (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket).
- Understanding of application security, scalability, and reliability principles.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic or Datadog.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in B2B eCommerce environments.
- Knowledge of Node.js development and AWS services.
- Ability to contribute to front-end development using JavaScript, Vue.js, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Docker and local development environments.
- Skills in diagnosing and resolving application performance issues.
Experience: 8-12 years in back-end development, specifically with Magento and PHP.
