About this role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Web Designer / WordPress Developer for a contract position to build a professional, bilingual (English/French) website for one of their workforce development programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in web design and development, with recent client references.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a custom WordPress site consisting of approximately 7 pages and 5 partner landing pages.
- Ensure the website is fully bilingual and AODA-accessible.
- Create wireframes and user stories to guide the design process.
- Prepare a technical requirements document for the project.
- Set up a staging environment for testing and provide full support for testing and migration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in WordPress development, particularly in custom CMS builds.
- Strong understanding of standard UI components such as accordions, modals, mega menus, carousels, and forms.
- Experience working with non-profit or mission-driven organizations is preferred.
- Bilingual capability in English and French is essential.
- Demonstrated track record of on-time project delivery and excellent client service.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years in web design and development.
