Our client is seeking a skilled Python/Django Software Engineer for a 3-month contract position, fully remote. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python and Django, with a focus on developing web applications and APIs. This role involves working on two key projects that include pulling billing data from the Transportation Management System (TMS) and creating a web application for tracking information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement web applications using Python and Django frameworks.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for data exchange between front-end and back-end systems.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards to ensure high-quality software development.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in Python and Django development.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Python Developer with expertise in Django.
- Experience with SQL databases and writing complex queries.
- Familiarity with EDI, API integration, Cargowise, TMS, and Supply Chain concepts is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in software development, specifically with Python and Django.
