Our client is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join their team in the AMS (Application Management Services) division. This role is essential for supporting and enhancing mainframe applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability as part of the client's commitment to digital transformation.
In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality mainframe solutions that meet client needs. You will leverage your expertise to modernize existing systems and contribute to the overall strategy for application management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using relevant programming languages and tools.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in mainframe applications, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Participate in the design and implementation of application modernization strategies.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference and compliance.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to mainframe technologies and application management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
- Experience with database management systems, particularly DB2 or IMS.
- Familiarity with tools and technologies for application modernization and cloud migration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Experience Level:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mainframe development or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering successful mainframe projects in a professional environment.
