About this role

Our client is seeking a Senior Specialist Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AWS migration projects and a strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation. This role is a 6-month engagement focused on executing a lift-and-shift migration from Azure to AWS, followed by stabilization and ensuring operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the migration of applications and services from Azure to AWS.
  • Design and automate deployment processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to manage cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless migration process.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Develop documentation and best practices for cloud operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in AWS services and architecture.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with cloud migration strategies and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Experience:

  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering and SRE roles.
