About this role
Our client is undertaking a platform migration from their existing WordPress site to a modern React frontend. They are seeking a highly capable Backend Engineer on a 1-month contract to lead the backend aspects of this transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the backend development for the migration from WordPress to React.
- Design and implement serverless backends and API-first architectures.
- Utilize Cloudflare Workers and the Cloudflare ecosystem to enhance performance and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with the in-house Frontend Engineer specialized in React to ensure seamless integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any backend-related issues during the migration process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with serverless architecture and API design.
- Proficiency in Cloudflare Workers and related technologies.
- Familiarity with both WordPress and React frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with frontend teams.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant backend engineering experience, particularly in migration projects.
