About this role
Our client is seeking a Founding AI/ML Platform Engineer for a full-time contract role, initially lasting 2 months, based in Bengaluru with hybrid/remote flexibility. In this hands-on engineering position, you will collaborate directly with the founder to develop core AI and platform capabilities for PersonaMatrix.ai. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about transforming concepts into MVPs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend services and APIs using Python/FastAPI.
- Integrate large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, and Groq for character and conversational AI experiences.
- Build systems for character chat, memory, and context management.
- Integrate voice AI platforms like ElevenLabs.
- Design and optimize database schemas and data pipelines.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance platform reliability and performance.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and the execution of the MVP.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL, Supabase, MySQL, or equivalent.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs and AI services.
- Good grasp of software architecture, system design, and scalable application development.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results in a startup environment.
- Experience with RAG, Vector Databases, AI Agents, or Conversational AI systems.
- Familiarity with Voice AI platforms such as ElevenLabs, Deepgram, Whisper, or OpenVoice.
- Knowledge of Docker, cloud platforms, and modern deployment practices.
- Experience working with OTT, media, creator platforms, or consumer AI products.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time systems.
Experience: 5-8 years in relevant fields.
